Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Lois Elaine Cordes of Strawberry Point, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 85, on December 25, 2024. She was predeceased by: her grandparent Oelwein; her parents, Arnold Rueber and Wilma Rueber (Brickman); her husband Norman Cordes of John's Lutheran Church; her daughter Judi Cordes; her brothers, David Rueber and Darwin Rueber; and her brother-in-law Tom Van Wyngarden.
She is survived by: her children, Beth Corell (Ben) of Harpers Ferry and Jeff Cordes (Kara Sherman) of Strawberry Point; her grandchildren, Wade Corell (Azure), Travis Corell (Brodie), Tyler Corell (Lindsey), Ashton Fridley, Jared Cordes, Payton Cordes, Kaiel Scott and A'riah Scott; her siblings, Doug Rueber (Marcia) of Arlington, Jan VanWyngarden of Austin and Karen Dahlberg (Doug) of Los Fresnos, Texas; and her siblings-in-law, Shari Rueber of Norwalk and Doug Cordes (Paula) of Indiana. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (312 E Mission St, Strawberry Point, IA 52076). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:15 AM at the Cass Township Cemetery East Mission.
