He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey James and Cepha Farmer (Steele); his granddaughter Katie Farmer; his siblings, Irma Leonard (Jim), Cecil Ann Quinn (Francis) and Don Farmer (Mildred); and his brothers-in-law, Irving, Leonard and Don Larson.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Farmer (Lori) of Strawberry Point, Jeff Farmer of Oelwein, Julie Andreae (Brad) of Arlington, Jill Ries (Mike) of North Liberty, Jeanette Riniker (Bruce) of Winthrop, Janice Martins (Doug) of Fairbank, Joe Farmer (Carrie) of Manchester and Jerry Farmer (Lori) of Strawberry Point; the mother of his children Kathleen; his grandchildren, Levi Farmer (Kenzie), Emery Farmer (Cynthia), Nicholas Farmer, Derek Farmer, Kyle Andreae (Paige), Tyler Andreae (Melita), Hannah Ware (Bradley), Abbey Ries (Aiden), Lauren Ries (Jarret), Megan Ries, Adam Riniker (Leah), Alex Riniker (Courtney), Amanda Cook (Chance), Alyssa Orr (Kennie), Alexa Riniker, Garrett Martins, Emily Martins, Lydia Martins, Luke Farmer, Rebecca Farmer, Kaden Farmer, Shannon Farmer and Kirsten Farmer; and his sisters, Dorothy Leonard of Elkader and Rita Larson of Elkader. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
