We are sad to announce that on July 3, 2023, at the age of 87, Richard Akins of Stratford, Iowa, born in Eagle Grove, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlin "Red" Akins and Vera Mae Akins (Bieries); his son Richard Allen Akins; and his siblings, Rita Wilson (Don), Betty Lawson, Raymond Akins, Judy Marco, Robert Dean Akins, Mikel Akins, Billy Akins and Patricia "Patty" Hilz.
He is survived by: his wife Mary of Stratford; his grandchildren, Sarah Akins of Verona Ill and Richard "Richie" Akins Jr. of Morris Illinois; his great grandchildren, Kat-Lyn Akins and Alexis Miller; his great great grandchild Xavier Miller; his brother Francis Akins (Martha) of Olathe, KS; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Lawson, Tom Marco and Don Hilz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
