She was predeceased by: her parents, Aubrey King and Ila King (Pomeroy); her husband Weldon Swedlund (Swede); and her brother Marshall King. She is survived by: her children, Alaire Willits, Neil Swedlund (Linda) and Mark Swedlund (Janice); her grandchildren, Kristine Bornholtz, Tim Bornholtz (Melanie Johnson), Stephen Bornholtz (Ema), Alison Rihard (John), Lindsay Wibholm (Erik), Derek Swedlund (Bethany) and Haley Swedlund (Malte Lierl); her great grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Stephanie Bornholtz, Julie Bornholtz, Kobe, Kale, Kendall Rihard, Kayley, Jayden, Emery Wibholm, Leyton, Brynn, Grayson Swedlund and Dominic Swedlund Lierl; and her siblings-in-law, Dean Swedlund (Harriet) and Jean King. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards the American Legion of Iowa, and can be designated to the Past Presidents Scholarship, or the Legion Foundation, and can be sent to the American Legion of Iowa, 720 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA 50309.
