He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Hampton and Ethel Hampton (Hawkins); his wife Rhonda Joy Hammer of Pocahontas, Iowa.; his daughters, Joy (Chad Lierman), Susan (Roger Parker), Mary (Lee Rainwater) and Krista (Chris Taylor) of North Africa; his grandchildren, Colin, Daniel (Zoey), Leah (Stephen), Rebecca, Pressly, Carson, Lindsay, Ashley (Johnny), Caleb, Samuel, Shyanne, Bryna, Cayle, Jaydon, Anyka, Mayah and Raymond; his great grandchildren, Gwen, Raelyn and Novella; his brother Gerald of Hampton; and his niece Laurel. He was also cherished by three nephews and many more extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
