It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harris J. Twedt Jr. of Story City, Iowa, who passed away on April 29, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harris Twedt and Myrtle Twedt Sr. (Branjord); his wife Viola Mae; and his brother-in-law David Swenson. He is survived by: his children, Karen Anderson (Brad), Steven Twedt, Kathryn Filipiak (Gary) and Robert Twedt (Barbara); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Michael, Brian, Allison and Margaret; and his siblings, Herma Swenson, Jerry Twedt (Barbara), Paul Twedt (Sharon) and Linda Iverson (Dave).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Riverside Bible Camp or Bethany Life.

“I was privileged to know “Pete” when I started teaching and coaching at South Hamilton in 1966. He was at many games and win or lose he always had a positive remark. It was a trademark of a true sport and he was always a Christian and a gentle man! He surely has a choice seat in his Heavenly home. His infectious smile always puts you at ease, and his beautiful voice and solo of The Lord’s Prayer is revered by all. May his friends rejoice in the many memories that minister to the healing process.”
