Gary Lavern Handeland Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Lavern Handeland of Story City, Iowa, who passed away on April 13, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Handeland and Ora Handeland (Risetter); and his sisters, Aloise Wilkinson (Howard) and Evelyn Davis (Jerry). He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Cara Swenson (Rand), Wade Handeland and Kay Stenstrom (Steve); his grandchildren, Kendra, Cole, Carly, Krista Swenson, Carson and Ava Handeland; his brother Loren Handeland (Kathy); and his brothers-in-law, Larry Cole (Roni) and David Cole. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Even though Parkinson's tried to take a lot from Gary, his strength, love and humor never faded.
