He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Johnson and Mazel Johnson (Thorson); and his siblings, Charlene Keltner and Steven. He is survived by: his children, Terry (June) of Melba, Craig (Gail) of Jewell, IA, Paul (Sue) of Ellsworth, IA and Brian (Kristal) of Story City; his grandchildren, Erin (Jeff DeWall), Megan, Taylor (Angela), Luke (Kayla), Tyler, Jesse (Jake Swapp) and Ella; his great grandchildren, Matthew, Caroline, Annie, Kaiden, Rem and Oakley; and his wife Marion (Bentley).

Memorials may be made to Elim Lutheran Church or Homeward Hospice.
