He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Frank and Ora B. Burginger (Werner). He is survived by: his sisters, Lois Ludvigson (Clayton) of North Liberty and Diane Gerdes (Harold) of Foulda, MN; and his nieces and nephews, Merle Gerdes (Heidi) of Wilmer, MN, Mark Gerdes (Mindy) of Costa Rica, Lisa Retze (Lance) of Verona, WI, Sara Kelley (Doug) of Central City, IA and Amy Anderson of Anamosa, IA. He is also survived by 11 great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephews.
