It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Jalas (Storm Lake, Iowa), born in Sutherland, Iowa, who passed away on January 16, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Amendt and Minnie Amendt (Kracht); her children, Delmar Jalas and Wilma Schimmer; her daughter-in-law Jacqueline Puhrmann; her great grandchild Lucas Jalas; her brothers, Everett Amendt, Marvin Amendt and Leonard Amendt; and her sisters-in-law, Irene Amendt and Rosali Amendt.
She is survived by: her children, Duane, Merle, Leon and Colleen; her son-in-law Leo Schimmer (Terri) of Holstein, Iowa; her sister-in-law Maurine Amendt of Sutherland; and her brother Wendell Amendt (Sherry) of Spencer. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
