He was predeceased by: his parents, Folkert Boelman and Shirley Boelman (Glade); and his brother Jim Boelman (Ilene) of Cedar Falls. He is survived by: his former wife Nancy Hartema; his children, Nick Boelman of Reinbeck and Jena Jones (Andrew) of Kelley; his stepsons, Luke Pickering of Eldora and Greg Pickering (Becky) of Machias, NY; and his sister Mary Groote-Diaz (Scott) of Arvada, CO.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
