He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alvin Gerke and Ida Gerke (Henze); his wife Karen Hopper; his children, Cindy Knights (late Frank), Brad Gerke (Christine), Jeff Gerke (Kelly), Doug Gerke (Tonya) and Susie Klemme (Jay); his grandchildren, Lindsay Adams (Stephen), Jared Knights (Erica), Rachel Long (Trevor), Brianna Jorgensen (Bryce), Krista Christensen (Collin), Kara Gerke, Ethan Gerke (Malaina), Elijah Gerke, Josie Gerke, Gabrielle Gerke and Samantha Gerke; his siblings, Mary Kretz (John) and Harlan Gerke (Karen); his son-in-law Frank Knights; his brother David Gerke; and his sister-in-law Char Williams. He was also cherished by 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
