He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Howard and Reba Howard (Rank); his brother Lloyd; his sister-in-law Marjorie Howard; his niece Darla Howard; his sister Janice; and his brother-in-law Arnold Olson.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Julie Riley (Doug) of State Center, Dale Olson (Sharon), Linda Clark and Dawn Lintz (Greg) of Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed in Max's name to the VFW / American Legion.
