He was predeceased by: his parents, William Andrew and Elsie Armbrecht (Eggers); his wife Muriel Garnet Wengert; his siblings, Joseph, Richard, Louis, Sherwood and Pauline; and his daughter Joyce Norrington.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Paul Armbrecht (Marlene) of Rockwell City, Iowa and Allan Armbrecht (Linda) of Colo, Iowa; his son-in-law Dar Norrington of Fenton, MI; his daughter Jean Rupp (Larry) of Berne, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Eric Armbrecht (Jenni), Todd Armbrecht (Chelsea), Amy Sadera (Bill), Alyssa Randall (Scott), Aaron Armbrecht (Sarah), Megan Merseth (Jeff), Adam Armbrecht, Tyler Armbrecht, Marc Norrington (Kathy), Kelli Doan (Marcus), David Rupp IV, Mary Hall (Jeremy) and Nathan Rupp (Kara); his brother Kenneth; and his sisters-in-law, Edith Armbrecht and Margery Armbrecht.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lutheran Family Services or to the family for distribution. Hugo donated his earthly body to Des Moines University for medical science.
