He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray M. Eichelberger Jr. and Marion Carol Eichelberger (Hammers); his uncle Kenneth Hammers (Bud); his sister-in-law Melissa Stroud; and his nephew Andrew Stroud.

He is survived by: his sisters, Kay and Elaine; his wife Penny Scroggs; his children, Barbara Boston of Coin, Kenneth Eichelberger (Robin) of Bellevue and Matthew Eichelberger of Elliott, Iowa.; his great grandchildren, Dakota Ring, Abbie Jo Eichelberger, Tucker Eichelberger, Logan Eichelberger, Alexia Eichelberger, Nicholas Boston and Shelby Boston; and his sisters-in-law, Laura Graves of Clarinda, Peggy Webb of Glenwood and Pam Chambers (Mike) of Clarinda. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
