She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Goranson and Ellen Goranson (Clauson); her husband Harlan Quist; her siblings, Eleanor White and Kenneth Goranson; and her son-in-law Greg Freeman.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Quist of Stanton, IA, Sandra Quist (Steve Underwood) of Council Bluffs, IA, Sharon Freeman of Beloit, WI and Nancy Mulherin (Lynn) of Naperville, IL; her grandchildren, Kyle Quist (Anne), Braden Quist, Sadie Waugh (Dylan), Ryan Kmezich, Courtney Sargent (Daniel), Andrea Hyle, Connor Mulherin, Haley Mulherin and Riley Mulherin; and her great grandchildren, Hunter Quist, Lillyanna Kmezich, Luca Waugh, Presley Hyle and Briggs Sargent. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home (509 N 6th St, Red Oak, IA 51566). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at the Evergreen Cemetery (1900 N 8th St, Red Oak, IA 51566).
Memorials may be directed to the Carolyn Quist Memorial Fund for future designation.
