He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilke Heeren and Hilka Heeren (Koop); his sister Hortenza Vold; and his stepson Steven Dearchs. He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn Tash; his children, Richard Heeren (Julie) of Stanhope, Elaine Mitchell (Brian) of Denver and Tom Heeren of Lehigh; his wife Sharon Dearchs; his great grandchildren, Jason Heeren, Anna, Rylan, Jennifer Arnold (Travis), Henry, Hayden, Lee, T. R. Mitchell, Emily Langford (Cole), Ben and Ty Heeren; his stepchildren, Robyn Svadvik and Joleen Lauer (John) of Waukee; and his sister Wilma Anderson (Cecil). He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren and nine great step grandchildren.
