He is survived by: his wife Patricia Chavez of Stacyville; his sons, Daniel Chavez (Corine) of San Lorenzo, Valentino Chavez (Erica) of San Bruno and Alberto Chavez (Jessica) of Millbrae, California; and his grandchildren, Elena Chavez of Valentino Chavez, Brian Chavez, Alberto Chavez II, Diondra Lopez, Timothy Tinoco and Emily Chavez. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

“It’s hard to express how saddened I am of the passing of my Father. Ever since I was a kid I talked with him about death and how not only I was afraid to die but also I was afraid that one day he would as well. We had that talk when I was around 5 years old. I can remember the fear and the sorrow. He explained that it was normal and that we would again be together one day with God. I believed him but still felt sad that it was a reality. Now that he passed I still feel the same. I love you Dad”
