He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norman Hinman and Margaret Jopke (McCarthy); his wife Cheryl Hinman (Meyerhoeffer) of Hastings; his sons, Terry (Pamela), Christopher of Coralville, IA, Thomas of North Liberty, IA. and Edward; his grandchildren, Lydia Hinman of Iowa City, IA, Alexis Hinman of New York, NY and Jack Hinman of Iowa City, IA.; his sister Margaret Hinman; his stepsiblings, Margaret and Wallace Jopke; and his siblings, Ellen Dimond (Hinman) of Macomb, MI, Mary Dicka (Bruce) of Poynette, WI, Julie Skemp (Sam) of Sun Prairie, WI, Colleen Mini (Hinman) of Milton, WI, Mary Kay Middleton (Doug) of Edgerton, WI, Bill Jopke of Madison, WI, Karen Roach (David) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Charles Hinman of Lakeland, FL., Thomas, James and Norman.
