It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard John Shanahan of Springville, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on January 12, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Shanahan and Estelle Shanahan (Melloy); and his siblings, Sue Donohue, Jerry, Tom, Jim, Neil and Steve Shanahan.
He is survived by: his wife Shelley Shanahan of Springville; his son Brandon Shanahan (Margo) of Marion, Iowa; his grandchildren, Gracie and Ellie Luchtenburg; and his siblings, Marie Shanahan of Colorado, Joann Carruthers of Colorado, Barb McPhail of Colorado, Debbie Gaschler of Colorado, Bill Shanahan (Maureen) of Swisher and Phil Shanahan of Maquoketa.
