She was predeceased by: her parents, Wanda Mabel Bernacki (Farmer) and Edward Bernacki; her sister Deborah Jo Stevens; her stepmother Doris Bernacki; and her stepbrother Richard Hite (Joyce).
She is survived by: her husband Jake Hiner of Springville; her son Kris Jacobs of Viola, Iowa; her stepchildren, Jason Martin-Hiner (Karin) of Decorah, Iowa and Melissa Reynolds (Brian) of Cedar Rapids; her granddaughter Kailee Jacobs; her stepgrandchildren, Gabriel and Mikayla Hiner; her siblings, Dave Bernacki of Cedar Rapids, Dan Bernacki (Clara) of North Liberty and Jessie Bernacki of Independence, Iowa; and her stepbrothers, Terry Hite and Bruce Hite (Amy). She is also survived by extended family members, including nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Association, or to the Springville Library.
