Kathryn L. McClurg Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kathryn L. McClurg in Spirit Lake, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2024 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Jack Holzhauer; her brother David; her nephew Matthew; her parents-in-law, Karen McClurg and Ed McClurg; and her sister-in-law Melissa Sebastian.
She is survived by: her parent Betsey Holzhauer (Flint); her husband Dan T. McClurg; her daughter Kelli Elphic (Collin) of Greensboro, NC; her stepsons, Michael McClurg of Spirit Lake and Danial McClurg (Liz) of Sheffield, IA; her grandchildren, Bryce, Kayla, Phoebe, Owen, Kaiya, Austin and Peyton; her sisters, Pat Moore of Spirit Lake and Anne Strayer of Algona, IA; her siblings-in-law, Susan Lynn (Todd) of Spirit Lake, Sandra McClurg of Estherville, IA and Kevin Sebastian of Everly, IA; and also, Steven Craig of Maricopa, AZ and Betsey of Spirit Lake. She is also survived by les partner and love of her life for 29 years, 14 nieces & nephews, as well as 10 great-nieces & nephews, and many cousins, aunts & uncles.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (2317 32nd St, Spirit Lake, IA 51360). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions can be made in Katie's honor to the Mayo Clinic Oncology Department, Abben Cancer Center (Spencer), or the World Wildlife Organization (for Katie's lifelong love of pandas).
