He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Kala; his wife Pat of Spillville; his granddaughter Christina English of Rochester Hills, MI.; his sisters-in-law, Susie Vollmecke of Romeoville, IL, Dorothy Kala of Leonard, MI and Carol Kala; his brothers, Melvin (Dorothy Jean Wiest), Linus (Anna Mae Wiest) and Kenneth; his parents-in-law, Fritz and Marcella Kala (Banasik); his brothers-in-law, Fred Kala, William Kala and Matt Vollmecke; and his nephew Michael Vollmecke.
Memorials may be made in John's memory to the Ossian Senior Hospice, Hospice of Winneshiek County or the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Dr., Adrian, MI 49221 John Francis Wiest was born on May 23, 1934 the son of John A. and Eda (Leibold) Wiest in Fort Atkinson, IA.
