He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kress and Amy Kress (Carrigan); his son Russell; and his siblings, Bruce, Jerry, Berniece Talley and Phyllis Kress.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Eriksen of Spencer; his daughters, Julie Chastain of Spencer and Debbie Kress (Steve Sourbier); his daughter-in-law Cynthia Kress (Dennis Halverson) of Webb, Iowa; his grandsons, Chad Whiting (DeeDee) of Bondurant, Jacob Kress (Sandy) of Franksville and Nathan Kress (Amanda) of Kelley, Iowa; and his great grandchildren, TJ Whiting, Sophia, Lucas, Adelyn and Franklin Kress. He is also survived by his mother and siblings.
