He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Thomsen and Berma Thomsen (Olson); his siblings, Sue Thomsen and David Andrew Thomsen; his parents-in-law, Merlyn and Loretta Wegener; and his grandson David Theodore Thomsen.
He is survived by: his wife LuAnn Thomsen; his children, April Marx (Michael) of Omaha, Peter Thomsen (Danielle) of San Diego, Robyn McGrath (Shawn) of Omaha and David Thomsen (Tara) of Fort Hood; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Sloane Marx of Omaha, Ryan, Benjamin Thomsen of San Diego, Brennen, Alivia, Josie McGrath of Omaha, Danica, Harlow and Thea Thomsen of Fort Hood; and his sisters, Joan Loring (Jeff) of Spencer, Julie Hanson (Kent) of Spencer, Cindy Heiter of Spencer and Arlene Christensen (Dale) of Ames. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to either Clay County Fair Charitable Trust, specifically to Grandpa's Barn or Clay County 4H Club.
