He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nissen and Gladys Nissen (Johnson); his brothers, Denny (Mollie), Ronnie, Greg and Dave Nissen; and his nephew Brett Nissen.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Nissen of Spencer, IA; his children, Scott Nissen (Terrie) of Spencer, IA, Dawn Nissen (Jesse) of Spencer, IA, Stacy Hinton of Sioux Falls, SD and Tim Nissen (CharlyRae) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Mariah Leach (Patrick), Kendra Nissen, Brendon Nissen, Alex Gorton, Zack Nissen, Jensen Hinton and Madalynn Cech; his sisters, Dori Beck and Delores Koehlmoos; and his sisters-in-law, Robbin Nissen and Vickie Nissen. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
A reception was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Warner Funeral Home- Everly (210 S Ocheyedan St, Everly, IA 51338).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Steve's name.
