She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Hurst and Cheryl Hurst (Beck); her brother John Hurst; and her grandparents, Rudy, Lois Ann Beck, Albert and Helen Hurst.
She is survived by: her husband Dave Schmidt of Spencer, IA; her sons, Sam Brandt of Spencer, IA and Kael Schmidt of Spencer, IA; her parents-in-law, Pete and Barb Schmidt of Spooner, WI; her sister-in-law Jacqueline Olson (Chris); her nephew Dylan; her mother-in-law Regina Hurst; her daughter Hazel of San Antonio, TX; and her pets, McClane, Goose and Creed. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Sara's name.
