With solemn reverence, we commemorate Sara Ann Schmidt (Spencer, Iowa), whose life came to an end on January 12, 2025 at the age of 44, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Hurst and Cheryl Hurst (Beck); her brother John Hurst; and her grandparents, Rudy, Lois Ann Beck, Albert and Helen Hurst.
She is survived by: her husband Dave Schmidt of Spencer, IA; her sons, Sam Brandt of Spencer, IA and Kael Schmidt of Spencer, IA; her parents-in-law, Pete and Barb Schmidt of Spooner, WI; her sister-in-law Jacqueline Olson (Chris); her nephew Dylan; her mother-in-law Regina Hurst; her daughter Hazel of San Antonio, TX; and her pets, McClane, Goose and Creed. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hope Reformed Church (919 Grand Ave, Spencer, IA 51301). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Sara's name.
