He is survived by: his wife Patricia Applegate (Sullivan) of Spencer, IA; his children, Julie Wiese (Ryan) of Holstein, IA, Jennifer Lennon (Chris) of Urbandale, IA, Jeffrey Applegate of Spencer, IA and Jill Applegate of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Shelby, Maddie, Megan, Renae and Travis; and his siblings, Carl Applegate (Ellen) of Visalia, CA and Kitty Owen (Tom) of Sierra Vista, AZ. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Parish & Catholic School (1111 4th Ave, Spencer, IA 51301). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at the Riverside Cemetery (1701 W 4th St, Spencer, IA 51301).
