He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Swanson and Myrtle Swanson; and his sister Suzanne. He is survived by: his wife Starla of Spencer, Iowa.; his children, Kyle Ann Heppenstall (Scott) of Port Orchard, WA. and Nathan Swanson (Sarah) of Philadelphia, PA.; and his siblings, Les, Glenn (Darlene), Tim and Julie Baum (Rick). He is also survived by His Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, nephews and nieces, as well as many extended family.
