It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gale Eugene Igou (Spencer, Iowa), born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, who passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Igou and Elva Daldorf Igou; his wife Sandi; his siblings, Ronnie, Joyce Bond (Bernard) and Glenda Updike (Roger); and his brother-in-law Dean Sleik.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Igou (Teresa) of Buckeye, AZ, Jamie Carpenter (Aaron) of Spencer, IA and Jenni Bastman (Wade) of Greenville, IA; and his sister Sharon Sleik of Iron Mountain, MI. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethany Lutheran Church (15 W 14th St, Spencer, IA 51301). A memorial service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at the Northlawn Memorial Cemetery (2208 Hwy Blvd, Spencer, IA 51301).
