She was predeceased by: her parents, Evert Wahlstrom and Evelyn Wahlstrom (Gungtum); her son Jesse; and her brother Eugene Wahlstrom. She is survived by: her husband Joe of Spencer, IA; her daughters, Tammy Varnadore of Greensboro, NC, Tri Dodge of Milford, IA and Molly Campbell (Jason) of Escanaba, MI; her grandsons, Jake Dodge, Ben Campbell and Sean Campbell; and her siblings, Evert Jr. Wahlstrom (Donna) of Loveland, CO, Errol Wahlstrom (Linda) of Wilbur, NE and Betty Movall (Keith) of Newell, IA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Elaine's name.
