She was predeceased by: her parents, William Armstrong, and Betty Armstrong, Sr. (Fuller); her brothers, William Armstrong Jr. and Paul Armstrong; her father-in-law James Flinders; and her siblings-in-law, Sarah Robertson and Patrick Flinders.

She is survived by: her grandson Tommy; her husband Samuel Flinders; her children, Nicki Flinders, Robert Flinders (Sarah) and Patrick Flinders; her grandson Thomas Flinders; her siblings, Carol Pitts, Ann Brubaker (Mike), Janice Zephier, Douglas (Jackie) and Kenneth; her mother-in-law Shirley "Hoy" Flinders; and her siblings-in-law, Gloria Beckner (Craig), Andrea Flinders, Mary Flinders, Elizabeth Flinders (Chuck) and Michael Flinders (Sharon).

Amidst her never-ending work projects, she nonetheless found time every year to bake Christmas cookies and take the time to hand deliver them to family and friends. She made Iowa and the world a better place and both are the poorer for her passing. We will always count ourselves blessed to have been in her circle of friends.
