He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph S. Lingel and Clara E. Lingel (Reif); his wife Doris E. Jiroutek; and his sister Loretta Bortz. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Lingel of Coralville and Sue Smith (Drew) of Hiawatha; his grandchildren, Allison Bates (Nelson), Mindy Lingel, Shannon and Rachel Smith; and his close friend Phyllis Fiala of Solon.
Memorials may be directed to either the Solon Fire Building Fund and or to Iowa City Hospice in his name.
