He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Kabela and Agnes Kabela (Buchmayer); his wife Shirley; and his brothers, Paul and Lawrence.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Kabela (Shelby) of Solon and Cheryl Hansen (Mike) of Fort Collins, Colo.; his grandchildren, Brick, Jack, Beckitt, Brooks, Lainey and Briar; and his siblings, Darlene Brant of Atkins and Don Kabela of Solon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert Kabela: University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Nursing Excellence Fund, Solon Retirement Village Foundation, Alzheimer's Association (Iowa Chapter).
