It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Marie Schmadeke of Solon, Iowa, who passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ellen Marie Schmadeke to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick R. McDonald and Mathilda J. Mahoney; and her daughter Gina. She is survived by: her husband Charles J. Schmadeke of Solon; her children, Brian Schmadeke (Christine) of Waterloo, Kara Schmadeke (Jeff Booze) of Anamosa and Mary Paterson (Richard) of Iowa City; and her siblings, Velma Usher and Francis McDonald. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
