He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrose Harney and Rose Harney (Roit); and his siblings, Francis, Vincent, Paul, Ambrose, Thomas, Vivian Clemen, Mary Ellen Dlouhy, James and Therese Harney.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Sovers; his children, Laurie Stinocher (Gary) of Solon and Jeff Harney (Angela Charsha-Harney) of Coralville; his grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley Stinocher, Gabe and Sidney Harney; his siblings, Edmund Harney of Iowa City, Patrick Harney (Jean) of Iowa City, Rosa Langenberg (Gene) of Iowa City and Virginia Ockenfels (Dan) of Fairfax; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Harney of Forney, Emily Harney of Iowa City, Ken Sovers (Linda) of Solon and Ron Sovers of Riverside, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, St. Mary (Solon) Cemetery Fund, or the Dave Harney Memorial Fund.
