He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Laverne Amunson and Hazel Mildred Amunson (Eulinger); and his brother David. He is survived by: his brother Dale Amunson (Nancy); his nephew Erik Amunson (Angela); his great-niece Alexa Amunson; and his great-nephew Ryker Amunson.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Donald's memory and sent to Soldier Lutheran Church, 223 Lark Street, Soldier, Iowa, 51572.
