He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Copple and Leta "Toots" Copple (Gulick); and his siblings, Jack Copple, Janet Van Auken, Sally Maddox (Don), Sharon Johnson, Benny Copple and Gil Copple.
He is survived by: his pets, Riley and Miracle Copple; his wife Bev Copple of Sloan, Iowa; his children, Rod Copple (Melissa) of Ames and Michelle Copple of Salix, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jessica, Paige (Collin Trent), Josiah and Paityn; his sister Twila Copple of Sloan, Iowa; and his in-laws, James Dean, Chris Williams (Mike), Mike Dean, Denise Lestor, Greg Dean (Gwyn), Roberta Kelly, Bill Johnson and Vicky Copple. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, plus numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Burgess Foundation in Onawa, Iowa, in appreciation of their staff; Community Church of Christ of Sloan, Iowa to support youth Sunday School; or American Legion of Iowa Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa to support youth programs.
