He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie "Bud" Thomas and Doris Thomas (Larson); his wives, Patricia Thomas (Lander) and Jane Thomas (Callaghan); his brother Russell Thomas; his daughter Kim Trobaugh; and his great grandchild Kayden Solma.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Thomas (Cindy) of Cedar Rapids and Janean Zortman of Sloan, Iowa; his son-in-law Todd Trobaugh; his stepson Doug Porter of Sioux City, Iowa; his close friend Glenda Kilker of Sioux City, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ashley Hagestrom (Charlie) of Whiting, Cori Eickholt (Josh) of Sergeant Bluff, Bobbi Jo Steinhoff of Des Moines, Tanner Steinhoff (Natalie) of Des Moines, Brooke Umbdenstock (Gavin) of Urbana, Brett Thomas (Tricia) of Walker and Amber Zortman (Derrick) of Whiting, Iowa; his sister Jane Guerra of Waco, Texas; and his sister-in-law Barb Thomas of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skien Lutheran Church (11929 Aspen Ave, Sloan, IA 51055). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
