He was predeceased by : his father Jess "Ike" Kirkendall; his brothers, James "Jim" Kirkendall and Kirk Kirkendall; his parents-in-law, Virgil and Lorraine Parsley; and his brother-in-law Larry Silbernagel.

He is survived by : his mother Mary Ellen Kirkendall (Walpole) of Sloan, Iowa; his wife Karen Kirkendall of Sloan, Iowa; his children, Joe Kirkendall (Wendy) of Omaha, NE and Laura Stearns (Mark) of Somonauk, Illinois; his granddaughters, Amy Brant (Kyle), Kelli Hesse (Ryan), Samantha Killian (Josh) and Chelsea Stearns; his great grandchildren, Braxton, Lucas, Scarlett Brant, Amelia and Adalyn Hesse; his friend Alan Flanders (Sara); his siblings, Candace Maynard of Camdenton, Missouri and Daniel Kirkendall (Bonnie) of Camdenton, Missouri; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Kirkendall of Sloan, Sue Kirkendall of Sioux City, Trudy Coil (John) of Sloan and Vicky Silbernagel of Ft Worth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11:30 A. M. – 2:00 P. M. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Community Church of Christ, Sloan, Iowa. (Social distancing measures must be followed-Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Masks are required.) A Private Family.
