He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Raines and Norma Raines (Hashman); his parents-in-law, Edna and Woodie Gibson; his siblings-in-law, Karen Gibson (Kever), Rich Gibson, Mike Gibson, Darrell Harmon and Donnie Millang; his nieces, Roxanne Harmon and Jill Sheehan; and his nephew Derrick Harmon.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Raines of Slater; his daughters, Holly Christensen (Jim) of Madrid and Melody Moyer (Brad) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Taylor Christensen (Emily), Aubrey Mayer (Michael), Jordan Moyer and Savannah Moyer; and his great grandchildren, Oaklyn and Otto Christensen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and a donation will be made to the organizations that were important to Max.
