He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his son Bruce; and his grandson Michael Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Dan Nelson (Lynda), Mike Nelson (Diann) of Slater, Debra Nelson of Des Moines, Caryl Burke (Jim) of Madrid and Anne Michel (Kevin) of Ames. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
