It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerald Lamont Baier of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, born in Peterson, Iowa, who passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lamont J Baier and Ruth Delphine Baier (Vaux); his wife Shirley Baier (Negus); his brother Eugene Baier; his parents-in-law, Orson and Elsie Negus; and his great grandchild Owen Roberts.

He is survived by: his children, Bruce Baier (Linda) of Alta, IA, Pamela Ahlrichs (Charles) of Pocahontas, IA, Patricia Juhl (Gary), Melissa Gingrich (Kyle) of Marion, IA and Brian Baier (Amy) of Brandon, SD; and his grandchildren, Ben Baier (Nishi), Jessie Hansen (Kyle), Jamie Kennison (Aaron), Rob Ahlrichs (Kat Sterner), Libby Roberts (Curt), Kaitlin Steffen (Tyler), Ryan Gingrich (Kelsey), Jason Gingrich (Alyssa), Samuel Gingrich, Emma Baier (Austin Fritz) and Brandon Baier. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
