She was predeceased by: her parents, John Schmitt and Mary Schmitt (Grace); her brother Paul Schmitt; her daughter-in-law Kathey Allen; her niece Kathy Schmitt; and her granddaughter Lori Adams.
She is survived by: her sons, David Allen of Bethany, Missouri, Daniel Allen of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Thomas Allen (Rhonda) of Boone, Iowa and Michael Babcock (Tammy Groth) of Sioux Falls; her sister Theresa Ward of Papillion, Nebraska; her sister-in-law Patricia Schmitt of Lohrville, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Kendra Allen, Andrew Allen, Lisa Allen, Cari Jones and David Allen. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
