He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schuetz and Justina Schuetz (Goergen); his wife Virginia Schuetz (Desy) of Jean's Church; his daughter Ann Hinds; and his siblings, Larry Schuetz, Bernice Schuetz, Dorothy Huebsch, Raymond Schuetz, Joseph Schuetz and Mary Kollschegg.
He is survived by: his daughters, Salli Kirkland (Billy) of Sanibel, FL, Dominique Lyon (Mark) of Spink, SD and Jane Damrau (Steve Schlumbaum) of Attleboro, MA; his son-in-law Mark Hinds; his grandchildren, Sarah Case (Jonathan), Kate Lanagan (Josh), Bradley Hinds (Brigitt Bigbee), Vanessa Flynt (Doug), Mary Fox (Bryan), Joseph Lyon, Jon Damrau (Emily) and Angela Bergstrom (Chris); his great grandchildren, Alex, Charlotte, Jonathan, Benjamin Case, Dylan, Anna Lanagan, Lucian, Arloine, Dorian Hinds, Alexandra, Lyla Flynt, Anastasia, Katarina Fox, Sadie, Spencer and Max Bergstrom; and his siblings, Gertrude Sargent, JoAnn Weston, Michael Schuetz and James Schuetz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5010 Military Rd, Sioux City, IA 51103). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
