She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Petersen and Edna Petersen (Koinzan); her husband Allen Edward Welding; her son Edward Welding; her brother Richard Petersen; and her sister-in-law Joyce Petersen.
She is survived by: her daughter Georganne Welding of Sioux City; her grandsons, Andrew Welding and Alex Welding (April); her great grandchildren, Ari Allen and Arlee Mae Welding; her daughter-in-law Sheryl Steuk (Greg) of Sioux City; her friend Judy Sweetman of Sioux City; her brother Dale Petersen of Austin, Texas; and her sister-in-law Lageane Petersen of Sioux City.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Morningside Lutheran Church (700 S Martha St, Sioux City, IA 51106). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A proud servant and leader, Marlene's contributions to her church and community were substantial.
