He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dacres and Agnes Ester Dacres (Nibler); his wife Joan F. Ford; and his siblings, James, George, Francis David, Paul, Margaret and Catherine.
He is survived by: his children, Matt Dacres of Sioux City, Jena Thiele (Ed) of Sioux City, Deana Smyth (Bill) of Bellevue and Paul Dacres (Kristen) of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Megan Huber (Jared), Rachel Thiele (Adam Leff), Seth Thiele, Ryan Dacres (Kayla), Jake Thiele, Mikaela Smyth, Nia Smyth, Brooke Dacres and Braedon Dacres; his great grandchildren, Jackson Thiele, Kolsen Huber and Caleb Huber; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaden, Bethany and Lucas Leff.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106). A vigil service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1212 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106).
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
