He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Byers; his parents, Florence Mahon and Charles Byers; his stepfather James Mahon; his son Tim Bratvold; and his niece Amanda Jo Donnelly.
He is survived by: his daughter Lori Schwahn (Chuck) of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Bobby Bratvold (Jamie), Ryan Bratvold (Addison), Tim Bratvold (Chloe), Sarah May and Stacy Cink; his siblings, Kathy Donnelly (Vance) of Jackson, NE, Karen Hulin of Carroll, IA and Dennis Byers (Pattama) of Las Vegas, NV; and his stepbrothers, Rodney Mahon and Bill Mahon. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be given to Lincoln Memorial in Lincoln, Nebraska for Don and Janice's headstone.
