She is survived by: her children, Connie VanDer Plaats (Gerrit) of Kentwood, MI, Colette Hofmeyer (Terry) of Orange City, IA, Todd Smits of Orange City, IA, Travis Smits (Connie) of Sloan, IA and Jason Smits (Gina) of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother Henry Toering (Joyce) of Jenison, MI; her sisters-in-law, Doris Toering of Grand Rapids, MI and Wilma Ilbrink (Marv) of Byron Center, MI; her sisters, Alma Warren (Charles) of Sioux Center, IA, Norma Van Wyk (John) of Sioux Center, IA and Marilyn Trumpie (Duane) of Kentwood, MI; her sister-in-law Nancy Toering of Grand Rapids, MI; and her siblings, Steve Toering (Cory) of Kitchener, Myron Toering (Marla) of Sioux Center, IA, Sharon Dykhuizen of Sioux Center, IA, Marvin Toering (Linda) of Orange City, IA and Craig Toering of Grand Rapids, MI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers family request memorials which will be directed to the Colorado Springs Downs Syndrome Association and the Sioux Center Hospice and Home Care.
