Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Herlan Schut of Sioux Center, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 92, on January 29, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mina Schut (Schuiteman) and Ed P. Schut; his siblings, Ellsworth Schut (Mary Ann) and Marcia Mulder (Theron); and his brother-in-law Tony De Haan.

He is survived by: his son Wade Harlan (Karen); his wife Betty De Boom; his son Eric Schut (Donna); his grandchildren, Kelsey De Jong (Kley) of Orange City, Keaton Schut (Rose), Karlie Schornack (Zack) of Roseville, MN, Alyssa Valentine (Arthur) of De Pere, WI and Kayla Schut; his great grandchildren, Norah, Lucy, Ellory, Aaron, Jorie, Murphy, Averie, Margo and Brooks; and his sister Pauline De Haan of Sioux Center. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Centerpoint Church (160 10th St SE, Sioux Center, IA 51250). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

The Schut family prefer memorials be directed to Mission India.
